BIO
In January 2024, I was in a coma and on life support for a severe lung injury. There was not one doctor or nurse on my treatment team who thought I would survive; yet here I am! The consequence of this is that I have an exceptionally soft voice and I run out of breath quickly, but considering the severity of this accident, it’s a small price to pay.
I had to retire from my corporate position. Originally, I had planned to pursue my music upon retirement, but without my voice this is null and void. My other creative love is writing: I have done so since I was a young child to manage the emotions brought on by an abusive home situation. As I went to Catholic school for my first 6 years, there was no music program available; I therefore pursued writing with vigor. When I proceeded to public school, I started writing music with lyrics that would emulate the style of Joni Mitchell: conditioned by poetry. My current collection consists of poetry, short shorts and short stories. I took classes at the New School in Manhattan and was part of several poetry groups while living there. I am working on a novel based on my extremely complicated yet interesting life, including two near death experiences in which it is a miracle I survived both/either one! I would appreciate any and all feedback, and thank you in advance for your kind consideration.
