Carol Bachofner (CarolBach8)

I started writing poems as a six year old. Silly little rhymers at first then branching out to bigger silly rhymers. I wrote all through school and my teachers either loved that or hated it. My 8th grade science teacher "caught" me writing a poem and thought to embarrass me in front of the class by having me read it. The other students loved it. Ha! I stopped writing much after I got married the first time: 4 kids and living overseas and a divorce and and and. At age 40-ish, I came back to poetry writing (Never left the reading part) and now it is what I do. i have a couple or so books out there and have dedicated myself to bring poetry to my small Maine city of Rockland, serving as its Poet Laureate for 4 years, from 2012-2016. Now I teach workshops online and in person, though the in person part took a big hit during COVID. In 2022, I stopped submitting much, but am doing that again, including shopping around a new manuscript, Every Place I Look Women With Embers at Their Feet.
