San Franciscan Black sailor H.E. Ross has spent most of his life sailing and writing about sailing. Ross lived and worked in Haiti for over two years and published two cultural magazines while living in the Turks and Caicos Islands and a maritime heritage book in the Cayman Islands. Ross founded or assisted the founding of four maritime heritage preservation organisations. Ross is presently gathering his more than fifty years of experiences in San Francisco, Mexico and the Caribbean at home in a small river village in Cornwall, England with his partner and their two children Skye and Zacary, and in California he stays in touch with his adult son and daughter Ian and Maya.
