My name is Jar'Dawn Hopkins, however, I go by Jardie. I am an African-American woman who has been writing poetry for as long as I can remember. My poetry always revolves around emotions that overwhelm me or life situations that confound me. As such, some of my early work has been much darker than my current works. Writing has been my passion for years, only just recently have I begun to feel confident in my ability to express myself through my work in a way that resonates with others without losing my own truthful voice.
