Karen Loeb (PearlRiver)

I grew up in Chicago, and my experiences there continue to emerge in my fiction and poetry. Florida, where I lived for eleven years also figures strongly in my writing, as does living and traveling in Japan and China. 2018-2020 I was the writer-in-residence for Eau Claire, Wisconsin, where I've lived since 1988. My writing has won both the fiction and poetry contests in Wisconsin People and Ideas, a print and online magazine published several times a year. I've been active in the Poetry Postcard Project managed by Paul Nelson, a poet out of Seattle. Every year in July and August we sign up and receive 31 names for sending poems written on postcards. I've ended up with some amazing poems that people have sent to me from all over the country and world, and also with 31 poems each year that I've written some/many of which I'm pleased with.
