Janice Marie Alexander was born in Baton Rouge and is a published author of Princess Panny and Frugal Feasts. Growing up she learned the value of the written word from her mother Patricia Marie Currie, who is also a published poet. Janice Marie would write poetry and her mother would critique it.
Janice Marie was also named Best Speech Student Ever at Brusly High School, which was due in part to her writing, directing, choreographing and playing the lead actress in a play that the school made over six-hundred dollars on from fifty-cent tickets. The name of the play was: Let’s Go Steady and it was a musical.
Janice Marie attended Louisiana State University and studied art extensively, English and communications there for nine years. During her time at Louisiana State University she became a nationally published photographer and won a national contest in Photographer’s Forum Magazine. Later, she won second-runner-up and honorable mention in the California State Fair.
