Shelley Meagher holds a doctorate in English Literature from the University of Oxford. She has held lectureships in English Literature at Oxford and Queen’s University Belfast and has won grants and awards for her literary criticism from the British Academy, the Folger Shakespeare Library and the University of Notre Dame. She has published on British and Irish Romanticism in academic journals and books and currently has a chapter forthcoming in History and Narrative, edited by Porscha Fermanis, at Oxford University Press.
Now based in Melbourne, Australia, Shelley writes fiction, plays and essays of cultural commentary, and continues to publish academic articles. She is working on her first novel, has just completed her first play, and is expanding her portfolio of short stories.
Outside creative writing and scholarship, Shelley works as a consultant in critical thinking, writing and strategy in the public and private sectors and hosts Q&A events in the sustainability sector.
