I am a retired ophthalmic surgeon and peace studies professor living in Holland, Michigan, with my wife of 52 years, my best friend. I am a baseball and wilderness canoeing enthusiast; alumnus of DePauw University, the University of Michigan Medical School, the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame, and the Vermont College of Fine Arts; and the father of two sons and grandfather of four grandsons. I have no history of fiction publication.
