I started reading picture books at age four and was hooked on serial stories like the Hardy Boys by age seven. In middle school, I found short stories and novels by Heinlein and Mark Twain. Stephen King followed soon after.
Now, decades later, I am a husband, a dad (to two children, two pugs, and ten chickens), and a registered nurse. And I discovered that I have stories in my head that need to be out in the world.
So, I am writing them down and moving out of my comfort zone by entering contests.
