Sharkey, The Performing Seal, was my first friend. Dad had a big band, Mom was an actress, and then they had me. While I grew up in the last gasp of vaudeville, I was a normal lad, but generally out of step with my parent’s and society’s expectations. As I grew into a semblance of adult-hood, I tried being an engineer, but it didn’t stick. So, I wandered the planet sailing boats, working on movies, and living in the mountains whenever I could. It was never boring.
