Hannah Smart (who publishes fiction under the pen name Ambrose D. Smart) is a fiction writer and literary/pop culture critic. Her short stories have been published in Puerto del Sol, The Rupture, SmokeLong Quarterly, Pif, and Flash Fiction Magazine, among others, and her essays have appeared in The Boston Globe and Vocal. She is the founder and editor in chief of experimental fiction magazine The Militant Grammarian, and she was chosen to present at both the 2021 and 2022 International David Foster Wallace Conferences. This past December, she received her MFA in fiction writing from Emerson College, where she now teaches.
