I am a poet and serve on the Board of the North Carolina Poetry Society and enjoy publicizing and popularizing all varieties of poetry.
I was a star athlete in high school, college, and even much of adulthood in discus and shot, and am now severely physically disabled, an experience which has given me an unusual perspective. It also was responsible for the end of my business career and return to poetry 35 years after my last poem in college; I graduated with honors from Yale, having written a book of my own poetry as a senior thesis.
I had to retire, finally getting approved as disabled, and spending all my time on intellectual growth and learning in many subjects is such an interesting and absorbing pursuit that I'm as happy as I've ever been.
