Charles Alden received a doctorate in biophysics from Purdue University and lives in Durham, North Carolina. His work has appeared in Sixfold, The Pedestal, Writer’s Digest, The MacGuffin, The Urban Hiker, and The World and I. Once national junior chess champion, he also runs with the Carolina Godiva Track Club.
