I began writing short stories as a young adult. Having been weaned on the novels of William Faulkner and the sardonic short stories of Dorothy Parker, I crafted my style in a similar vein. A Louisiana native, I have lived and worked in Southern California since the 1980’s.
When surprise elements upset the status quo and one’s lifestyle feels threatened, people react in different ways. My fiction addresses these reactions. In my first book (Peraphania: A Modern Allegory, which was a visceral reaction to the 2016 election), I drew paralells in the current political arena to a fictitious paradise where ultimately, good triumphs over evil. I then turned my focus to writing poetry and publishing Tender Verses.
