David Altman (draltman)

Altman currently is the Books & Writers Editor of the Pickens County Progress, in Jasper, Georgia, where he is a columnist and contributing writer. He has also published articles in Georgia Outdoor News and the Gwinnett Citizen. Prior to a thirty year career in the corporate sector, from which he retired 4 years ago, Altman worked at WSB-TV in Atlanta as a writer and news producer. Altman has been involved with numerous charitable and civic organizations in the Atlanta area. He is currently on the Board of RestorationATL, an urban ministry in Atlanta. The Ohio native received a bachelor's degree in journalism from Georgia State University in 1974. He is a 1995 graduate of Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program and is pursuing post-baccalaureate studies at Georgia State University. Altman is currently working on a collection of poems and personal essays. He and his wife Lisa live in Lawrenceville, Ga. They have three children and two grandchildren.
