Karen Kebarle was born in Edmonton, Alberta, but has lived in Ottawa, Ontario for 27 years. She holds an MA and PhD in English, as well as a Bachelor of Education. Her two sons are both computer geeks. Karen has taught grade school, college, and university, and now teaches English as a Second Language to public servants in the Government of Canada. Next to kayaking and skiing, writing is her favorite pastime.
