Keith was born in Dublin, Ireland to an Irish father and a Canadian mother. He enjoys the citizenship of both countries. He is a sociologist by training and profession with an interest in social movements. In his fictional writing he explores themes of nostalgia, vulnerability, masculinity and emotional isolation. Beside these themes the ideas of agency and self-determination permeate throughout his writing. He likes to draw on literary realism and dirty realism, and is influenced by notables like Raymond Carver. John Cheever, Haruki Murakami, J. D. Salinger and Anton Chekhov, among many others. The short story Barranco Oscuro currently sits as one of nine stories related to the theme of nostalgia.
