Leopoldo Zampiccoli (koppa_theta)

PhD student at the Institute for the Study of the Ancient World (NYU). I study the languages, history and heritage of the Near and Middle East, from prehistory up to the contemporary. My focus is on the networks of cities and peoples along the eastern Mediterranean coasts around the year 1000 BCE. Phoenicians, Luwians, Arameans, Assyrians, Greeks... I am interested in the interconnections between memory, group identity, space and languages (visual, spoken, written, silenced). Raised between the Italian Tyrol and Cyprus, Venetian by adoption, with occasional wanderings in Israel-Palestine, I now live in Brooklyn, NY.
