John Langfeld, a retired musician and arts educator living in Westchester, IL, has been writing in various genres since 1981. Langfeld’s first book of poetry, "There’s a Brevitist Loose in the Condensory [or] If You Want Your Heart Broken, Read Somebody Else," was self-published in May 2014. Since then, Langfeld's stories and poems have been published in print and online media. His essay entitled “reading it he changed almost into another man,†is included in Far Villages: Welcome Essays for New and Beginner Poets, an anthology from Black Lawrence Press (2020).
