My name is Marleen, I am 23 years old and besides writing and going to university for a degree in philosophy and English language studies, I am also working as a freelance artist and am involved as a vocalist in different metal music projects. I could never choose one art form over the other and while you might argue that you have to pick one to become outstanding in it, I would like to challenge this view - and while it took me some time to figure out I could never really feel fulfilled by neglecting one for the other, I think now that my work actually profits from this big pool of inspiration, that derives from my different indulgences. Hence, my work is often influenced by various forms of poetry, mythology and old book illustrations, the darker kinds of music and of course, nature itself. So, whenever human-made arts fail to inspire me, I go to the woods, listen, and observe how the wind moves in the trees.
I was born in Cologne, Germany, where I currently reside too.
