Maureen Almeida (maureenalmeida)

Maureen Almeida was a Clinical Social Worker at a VA Medical Center, until she retired to St. Augustine, Fl. A city of Artist's which gives her the inspiration she needs to write. She attributes her success as a poet to her experiences in life and at the VA. She has been writing poetry for many years, and was first published in a book of poetry at age 13. She has also been published in a collection of poetry entitled: "The Colors of Life" (2003; "The Best Poems and Poets of 2003;" and "The International Who's Who in Poetry" (2004). She was also awarded the Douglas Freels & Writers' Festival award in 2004.
