Born in Fountain Valley, CA, Michael J. Canas has been an actor and writer since he was 16. A bachelor’s degree graduate of the University of California Irvine drama program, he has had original works produced at local high schools and playhouses, including 2008 and 2013’s production of The Thespian (Fountain Valley High School), 2009’s production of The Only Child (Fountain Valley High School), 2010’s production of The Dr. Suess Project (Dr. Suess’ Read Across America), Orange Coast College’s Original Play Festival (Dine and Dash [2009], A Necessary Obligation [2010], Stephen King vs. The Universe [2011]), Orange Coast College’s 10 or Less Festival (Waiting For The Go [2011], Alma Mater Boulevard [2011]) and head writer for Costa Mesa sketch comedy troupe The Nostalgia League (Starlight Theatre, 2013-2014) and Burnt Luggage (2015). He lives in Huntington Beach with his family. He also likes cats.
