Monika Cassel is English Department Chair at New Mexico School for the Arts, a statewide public charter high school in Santa Fe, NM for students specializing in music, theater, dance or visual arts. She teaches American literature and poetry at the school, where she is starting a creative writing minor and developing a creative writing major.
Monika was raised bilingual in English and German. She is translating Durs Grünbein's book-length Porzellan: Poem on the Downfall of my City and working on a manuscript about her family in WWII and postwar Germany.
