As the daughter of a Dutch diplomat, I grew up in Romania, Switzerland, Brazil, and the United States, and attended college at NYU where I studied Art History, then obtained an MA in Cultural Anthropology from Columbia University. I am a voracious reader and an avid writer, and am especially interested in writing about children and teenagers of diverse backgrounds. My short story "All That Glitters was published in Cicada magazine, and my story "The Beast Tamer" was published in The MacGuffin. I am currently working on a YA novel that takes place in New York and in the Brazilian rainforest.
