I am a former English teacher, who believes in the power of poetry to make us more human, and to connect us through shared experiences. I grew up on a small farm and developed a deep appreciation of and respect for nature. I now own another small farm that abuts the one on which I was raised. I write to stay centered and sane. I agree with the statement that when one writes poetry, he or she is merely "a scribe to the Spirit." Poetry captures with "nets of wonder" the Spirit of Life.
