Richard Roth is a visual artist and writer—his paintings have been exhibited nationally and internationally. His novel, “NoLab,†was published in 2019 by Owl Canyon Press, Boulder, Colorado ("A Big Lebowski mythopoetic culturally fused walkabout in the remainder of art." "NoLab†unfolds through the bizarre adventures of characters who live on the cutting edge of art and ideas.â€). He co-edited the book, “Beauty is Nowhere: Ethical Issues in Art and Design†(Routledge). He taught at Virginia Commonwealth University from 1999 - 2015 and chaired the painting department from 1999 – 2008. Roth also taught at Ohio State University; the School of the Art Institute of Chicago; and the University of California, Berkeley. He presently lives and works in Southern California.
