I was raised in Buffalo, New York in a large German-Irish-Catholic family. Since that time, I have lived in Chicago, Los Angeles, Houston and Iowa City. I now live in Detroit where I work as a Legal Aid attorney. My wife and I have a Colonial on the East Side where we live with two dogs.
I have always written sporadically, but began again in earnest when I left my job at a large law firm. MY work is deeply enmeshed with the economic and cultural changes of America in its 21st Century.
Like most writers, I fluctuate between feelings of complete futility and the dismal prospect of not writing. It keeps me in shape.
