Rosa Lane (rosalane)

Rosa Lane is author of Tiller North (2016), published by Sixteen Rivers Press, winner of the 2017 11th Annual National Indie Excellence Award for poetry; and Roots & Reckonings (1980), a chapbook, published by Granite Press, East with a grant from the Maine Arts Commission. A 5-poem excerpt from Tiller North also won a 2017 Maine Literary Award for Short Works. Lane's work has won several other awards including the 38th New Millennium Award for Poetry and the Briar Cliff Review 18th Annual Poetry Contest among other acknowledgments. Her poems have been nominated for several Pushcart Prizes and appeared in Crab Orchard Review, New South, Ploughshares, Verse Daily, and elsewhere. Lane earned her MFA at Sarah Lawrence (1982) in creative writing in poetry, and a second Masters (1988) and PhD (2006) at UC Berkeley in architecture. She has taught creative writing at Berkeley City College, and participated as guest faculty in the Ashland University & Lesley University Low Res Programs.
