A Connecticut native who also lived and taught for several years in Hawaii, Sarah now divides her time between New England and western North Carolina. Her award-winning fiction, poems, and non-fiction pieces have appeared in many publications, including previous issues of Sixfold. Her story Witnessing was a finalist for the 2024 Porch Prize for Fiction, and her story Playing Chess with Bulls (published in Sixfold) was a finalist for the 2021 Doris Butts Fiction Prize. She published a short story collection in 2023; her debut novel Drawn from Life, a psychological suspense set in the Appalachian mountains, was released in April 2024.
