MICHAEL STACZAR (rhymes with “Bazaar") currently serves as Assistant Dean, for the College of Arts and Letters at The University of Tampa, as well as serving as Chair for the Department of Theatre and Dance. He holds an MFA in Acting/Directing from Syracuse University and he received a BFA in Drama-Musical Theatre from Boston Conservatory of Music. His background in the theatre arts has been a catalyst for his writing, with a particular focus on the importance of the spoken word/poetic voice. Although, he has been working on his plays and theatrical writing for many years, he is a relative "newbie" to the world of poetry; and it is only recently that he has placed an emphasis on such work. Much of his writing revolves around the personal connection to place and/or person, as well as the emotional and psychological impact(s) in those associations.
