Terry Mulhern is a Melbourne-based writer. When city life threatens to overwhelm him, he escapes deep into the forests of northwest Tasmania to contemplate the infinite beauty of fungi and surreptitiously photograph the nocturnal wildlife. He has twice been the winner of the Van Diemen History Prize (2021/22) for his essays about colonial Tasmania. His short stories ‘The Flying Fish’ and ‘The Satchel’ were finalists in the 2022 and 2021 Tasmanian Writer’s Prizes. Terry’s column ‘Lobster Tales’ appears quarterly in Forty South Tasmania magazine in print and online.
