Theresa Tran (theresaqtran)

I studied poetry at UC Berkeley in what I consider the heyday of Bob Hass and Thom Gunn and June Jordan. I wrote a thesis on George Oppen, a fascinating poet and human. For the next decade of my life I traveled and worked remote camps for Discovery Channel, Outward Bound, and the USAP (US Antarctic Program). More recently, I've been undergoing quite a sea change that somehow landed me in all the single parent, immigrant writer, over 40, writer of color categories that I see on grants and scholarships these days. Blessings in disguise, they make me laugh as soon as they're done making me cry. I love it. All the things that I’ve become to be the person I am. The synchronicity within that process, is often what I strive to write about.
