isaiah a. hines is the author of null landing, winner of the Slope Editions 19th Annual Book Prize. isaiah is a queer Black artist working with text, performance, and sound/image. Their practice explores the capacity of blackness to apply stress on the ethical syntax that authorizes/authenticates the assignation of value in the modern (post-Enlightenment) world. When met with stress, language, body, and space must strain to accommodate a change in force. Their work attempts to unthink the present metaphysics by experimenting with alternative materialisms that deform and displace the human from its privileged position as the most ethical/proper mode of matter/existence.
