I am a college student at St. John’s University majoring in Health and Human Sciences and English. My future goals involve supporting public health research and health reform policy. From the experiences in my life, I have learned to lead by science, awareness and compassion to discover pathways that contribute to society.
My background in STEM includes stem cell research, neuroscience and drug discovery. I have traveled to the United Nations headquarters in New York, NY to meet with ambassadors from member countries such as Argentina, Guinea and Belgium on behalf of the World Health Organization to discuss access to medication and healthcare. In May 2015, I gave a speech at a TedTalk Women’s event to share my experiences in neurology research at Johns Hopkins Medical Center. I plan to launch my own small business, Brain Trust, which aims to support STEM research and educational workshops that encourage movement towards science.
